Railroad tracks move out of alignment and wear out with time and use. J.A. Placek Construction will increase your track’s longevity by rehabilitating outdated or light rail tracks for longer, heavier locomotives and rail cars. We change out broken and defective rails, remove and reconstruct tracks, repair switches, and recondition turnouts, switchpoints, and welds frogs.
J.A. Placek Construction’s experienced crews rehab tracks using tie gangs with tie change-out equipment. Our surfacing gangs work with production tampers, regulators and laser/infrared equipment. In addition, our rail change-out gangs replace or transpose rail, install ribbon or bolted rail and repair worn bolts at track joints.
J.A. Placek Construction also does crossing rehabilitation and joint maintenance, including:
- Tightening and replacing track bolts
- Building up mismatched rail ends
- Profile-grinding railheads
