Project Description
In coordination with Home Depot, BNSF, and SCRRA Metrolink, construct new tracks and turnouts to serve. As a Subcontractor to Oltmans Construction Co. J. A. Placek was responsible for installation conventional ballasted track with wood ties and concrete ties, and installation of concrete embedded tracks in accordance with BNSF and SCRRA Metrolink Standards.
The IDI-Home Depot Project is located in the Perris, CA in the County of Riverside that will require inbound railcar deliveries from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) via the existing SCRRA Metrolink at milepost 84.65. This facility will serve as a bulk and flatbed distribution center for Home Depot.
This project starts from SCRRA Metrolink right-of-way and crosses Ellis Ave via ballasted double-track with a single track constructed inside of the new warehouse building and a second concrete embedded track constructed outside the new warehouse building for unloading and storage of Home Depot products & materials.
All work associated with this project was done under an accelerated work schedule and completed on-time for customer to receive railcar shipments.
Scope of Work
Construct 2,500TF (track-feet) of track with concrete ties, 3,700TF of track with wood ties, 1EA No.10 Turnout with concrete ties, 2EA No.9 Turnouts with wood ties, 163TF concrete crossing panels, and 1,800TF of concrete embedded track with Iron Horse System.
